About Energy Systems: Reliability

First National Bank of Omaha

When First National Bank of Omaha built its new state-of-the-art Technology Center in 2000, its design team determined that all critical functions serving the center, including its thermal energy, must meet the rigorous “Six-Nines Reliability” requirement. Such requirement is a 99.9999% on-line standard, which translates to only 32 seconds of acceptable, though not desirable, downtime per year. With its history of reliability, Energy Systems was selected as the thermal energy supplier for the Technology Center, as well as the entire First National Tower - a 42-story, 1 million square foot facility.

Our service reliability

Omaha’s continental climate, with its hot summers and cold, dry winters, demand that commercial and residential buildings have dependable heating and air-conditioning. Service reliability is a key factor behind many customers‘ choice for Energy Systems for their climate-control needs.

The centralized equipment at Energy Systems is monitored and maintained by highly qualified operators and technicians 24-hours a day. Extensive backup systems and built-in redundancy allow routine upkeep and repairs to take place without service interruptions. Combine that with district energy’s ability to utilize a variety of available fuel sources, and customers are virtually immune to outages or lapses in heating and air-conditioning. This high degree of reliability means there is typically no need for expensive backup boilers and chillers in buildings linked to Energy Systems, resulting in a significant savings to its customers.
